Tour Description
Enjoy a special one-day tour through the history of the famous archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, destroyed by the eruption of volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
The Pompeii tour begins with an entrance through the Porta Marina and a visit to the Forum area, the hub of the city's social, political, economic and religious life. We will visit the Temple of Apollo, the Temple of Jupiter next to which stood the covered market (Macellium), which also housed moneychangers and shops, and continue to the Forum Baths, built around 80 BC and decorated inside with precious frescoes.
In Herculaneum, luxurious villas were built shortly before its destruction, which can still be admired today. Among the most beautiful buildings found are the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, with splendid mosaic decorations, the House of the Mosaic Atrium, the House of Argos, the House of the Beautiful Courtyard, the House of Burnt Furniture and the House of the Stag.
This special tour continues with a visit to a typical local vineyard where we will taste exclusive wines exported all over the world. Italian wines are famous for their quality and Campania produces the most important red and white wines.
